A asus held an event this Thursday (20) to announce news for its family of notebooks. The spotlight goes to the new Zenbook S13 OLED, a model that features a 13-inch screen and a 13th generation Intel Core i7 chip. The thickness of the equipment is another interesting feature: only 1 cm.

The Zenbook S13 OLED is a laptop that follows the proposal of being ultra-thin, light (1 kg) and powerful. In a sense, that makes it a rival to models like the Dell XPS 13 Plus.
For that, Asus has offered as processor options the Core i5-1335U and Core i7-1355U chips, both with ten cores and integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics. The CPU is accompanied by 16 or 32 GB of LPDDR5 memory, plus up to 1 TB of SSD.

Asus Lumina OLED display
As the name suggests, the display is the highlight attribute of the notebook. It is a 13.3-inch OLED panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 2.8K resolution (2880×1800 pixels) and 550 nits brightness. Other attractions include a 0.2ms response time and colors at 100% of the DCI-P3 gamut.
According to the manufacturer, the screen is of the type Asus Lumina OLED, being more specific. This seal attests that the display follows several quality parameters. In addition to the features already mentioned, among them are:
- 1,000,000:1 contrast
- Vesa DisplayHDR certified
- TÜV Rheinland low blue light emission certification
- Tru2Life technology that enhances video playback
- Target Mode technology for power saving

Other specifications
Despite being an ultra-thin notebook, the Zenbook S13 OLED brings an interesting set of connections. There are two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, an HDMI 2.1, as well as a connection for headphones and a microphone. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 round out the connectivity.
Asus also highlights the back cover made of aluminum plasma ceramic, which does not require pure water or strong acids to be manufactured. In addition to the low environmental impact, the material offers greater resistance to wear and corrosion, says the company.
Other notable features include the 63 Wh battery, which promises autonomy of up to 14 hours, and resistance to the military standard MIL-STD 810H. The webcam has infrared for facial recognition authentication (via Windows Hello).
The operating system is Windows 11 Pro.
