Asus launched this Tuesday (18) the ROG Strix G16, its new notebook aimed at the gamer audience. The product features top-of-the-line hardware, such as an Intel Core i9-13980HX processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card. As expected, a laptop like the Strix G16 is expensive: R$17,999.99.

The screen of Asus’s new gaming notebook measures 16 inches (as indicated in its name). It has support for Full HD+ resolution, IPS panel, 165Hz refresh rate, Nvidia G-Sync and Dolby Vision. For the price of BRL 18,000, Full HD + resolution sounds “underrated”, but it is the maximum that the RTX 4060 GPU delivers. The new models of the ROG Strix line were announced at CES 2023.
Something unusual in notebooks, the ROG Strix G16 features liquid metal cooling for its Intel Core i9-13980HX CPU. The use of liquid metal is more efficient than traditional thermal pastes. On the other hand, they are also more expensive. The laptop also has three fans and seven heat pipes to lower the temperature of the equipment.
Returning to the processor, the 13th generation Intel Core i9 that equips the ROG Strix G16 has 24 cores and 32 threads. The “HX” at the end of its name indicates that it is part of the factory overclocked mobile CPU line. Its maximum clock is 5.6 GHz. The maximum TDP, according to Asus, is 65 W.

The Asus ROG Strix G16 has 16 GB of DDR5 RAM and 512 GB of storage, provided by an NVMe format SSD. RAM can be expanded up to 32GB. And yes, you can also increase the storage capacity. The notebook leaves the factory with Windows 11 Home
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 is clocked at 1400 MHz and has 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM. At its maximum performance, its consumption is around 115 W. The RTX 4060 has support for DLSS 3 and Ray Tracing.
ROG Strix G16 has an HDMI 2.1 port, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports (two Type-A and one Type-C compatible with DisplayPort), audio jack, RJ45 port and Thunderbolt 4 port with DisplayPort support.
