Artificial intelligence is one of the most popular subjects today. After ChatGPT, Bing Chat, and Bard, AutoGPT is the one that has generated a buzz in recent days. Using OpenAI’s GPT-4 engine, the same as its first two listed rivals, the new AI promises to be more autonomous than the competition.
AutoGPT’s proposal is to be more efficient with a single prompt (command given to the AI for it to generate a response). The answer given by the AI can be automatically used as a new command. An example given on the official intelligence website is the organization of a party.
In ChatGPT, he would suggest a theme, guest list and decorations. However, he would not be able to purchase the items and send the invites. AutoGPT, yes. Through a resource called AI agent (free translation), artificial intelligence can buy party supplies. AutoGPT asks for permission to perform these tasks.
AutoGPT can even edit your own code
Artificial intelligence is capable of writing its own code, correcting errors and running scripts in Python. In this way, AutoGPT can develop on its own.
The example was given by a Twitter user involved in AI development. As remarkable as this is, it’s important to remember that ChatGPT also writes code. However, artificial intelligences still make mistakes in code production, it remains to be seen whether AutoGPT makes fewer mistakes.
In another case, an AutoGPT user asked the AI to build an application. Realizing that Node.js was not installed, the artificial intelligence searched for the program on Google, installed it and continued the development of the app.
AI performance impresses with its autonomy and reduced user interaction. AutoGPT is not as simple as its competitors
O AutoGPT has been made available on GitHub and requires “some work” to use. Instead of accessing the AI through a website, you need Python 3.8 (or higher) an OpenAI API key and Pinecone API key. If you want AutoGPT to speak, you need the ElevenLabs API.
